COTTON FEE INCREASE

Effective November 6, 2017, the value of imported cotton will be raised to $0.011510 per kilogram, an approximate increase of 4.5% from the current value of $0.011012 per kilogram.

According to the Federal Register notice, the value of the assessment on cotton products consists of the sum of two parts.  The first part is the weight of the imported cotton ($1.00 per 500 lbs) which remains unchanged. The second part is the value of the imported cotton lint (five tenths of one percent of the value of domestically produced cotton) which is increasing.

The Federal Register notice includes the assessment table by HTS.  If you have any questions regarding the cotton fee increase please contact Vandegrift for assistance.
